How do I use custom personalization tokens in LeadFuze?
Using custom data you've already gathered on your audience to hyper-personalize emails is extremely valuable.
Here's a video tutorial on how to use custom personalization tokens:
There are two ways to use custom data within your emails. You can add a custom data field to your imported list or do this on a lead by lead basis.
This article covers both ways in that order. Either method you use, the custom data you specify become personalization tokens you can use within the email editor.
BE SURE to create custom sequences and lists for these leads, because if you don't have data for a lead based on your custom fields, emails won't go out. This is a protection for you so that you don't send blank or badly formatted emails to new leads. Remember, DO NOT change the custom token itself within the editor, as this will cause your sequence to not run.
To import a list with custom data, click Leads
Click Import List
Select a CSV file to upload by clicking Browse and selecting the file
Once you've selected a CSV file, click Next
From the Import Contacts page, scroll down to your custom data field, click on the drop down menu that says "Do Not Upload" and click Create New Property
Once you've selected this option, click Next
You will then be prompted to "Enter Custom Property Name". In this example it's "Marketing spend". Once you've entered that custom property name click Next
The last step in this process is to select a list to add these leads to, overview imported properties and click Import Contacts
After clicking Import Contacts your leads have been imported to your lists as well as the custom data to go with it. You can use this data as personalization merge tokens within the email editor.
To see the custom personalization tokens you've used and also add custom data on a lead by lead basis, click check your list now
Find the lead you're looking to add custom data for and click Edit
This brings you to the edit lead page. Scroll down this page to click Add Custom Field
From here, type in your custom data for "Property Name" and "Property Value" In this example the "Property Name" and "Property Value" are "Marketing spend" and "200" respectively. Once you've entered property names and values, click Update Lead
After clicking Import Contacts your leads have been imported to your lists as well as the custom data to go with it. You can use this data as personalization merge tokens within the email editor
